How Pakistani Recruiters Screen CVs on Rozee.pk and LinkedIn

Rozee.pk and LinkedIn do not show a recruiter your whole story. They show a filtered list. Here is what those screens actually rank, what gets you skipped, and how to make your resume, Rozee profile, and LinkedIn say the same thing.
You applied on Rozee.pk. You set LinkedIn to open to work. A week later there is silence, and it is easy to decide the market is closed. Sometimes it is. More often your name never reached the short list the recruiter actually reads. Both sites stand between you and that person, and they do not work the same way.
Rozee is a database. Recruiters search it with filters: city, job title, years of experience, degree, and keywords, then open a handful of profiles. LinkedIn is a search engine plus a feed. Recruiters type a title and a skill, skim headlines, and message the people who look like a match in the first two lines. Your PDF resume still matters, because it is what they open after the screen, and what you upload to a company portal. If the three versions disagree, you lose the benefit of all of them.
This is how that screening works in Pakistan, and how to write for it without turning your profile into a keyword dump.
What a Recruiter Sees Before They See You
On Rozee, a search result is a row, not your life story. The fields that decide whether the row gets a click are the current job title, the city, total experience, the degree, and the skills you tagged. A beautiful PDF attached to a profile that says "Employee" in Karachi with no skills will not be opened. The recruiter has two hundred other rows.
On LinkedIn, the scan is even shorter. The headline under your name, the first line of the About section, and the latest job title are the whole decision. "Looking for a job" is not a headline. "Accountant | QuickBooks, sales tax, monthly close | Lahore" is a headline, because it matches the words a recruiter types.
The PDF comes third. By the time someone downloads it, they already believe you might fit. The file has one job left: confirm that belief in ten seconds and give them proof they can forward to a hiring manager. A four-page biography, a photo collage, or a summary that does not match the Rozee title makes them close the tab and go back to the list.
Rozee.pk: Write for the Filters, Then for the Human
Treat your Rozee profile as the application, not as a folder that holds the application. Recruiters filter before they download.
Use the title they would search
If you want digital marketing roles, the current title field should say digital marketing, not "Management Trainee" from a bank job you left, and not "CEO" of a final-year project. You can explain the real designation in the experience section. The title field is a search key. Put the target role there, and make the latest experience entry support it.
Fill skills as words, not as a mood
Add the tools and methods the ads keep repeating: SEO, Google Ads, SQL, payroll, IFRS, AutoCAD, patient counselling, cold calling. Eight to fifteen specific skills beat a list of forty soft traits. "Hardworking," "punctual," and "team player" are not searchable skills. They also do not separate you from anyone else on the site.
Set the city you can actually work in
A recruiter hiring for a Lahore office will filter Lahore. If you live in Faisalabad and can move, say so in the summary, and set the location honestly. Listing Islamabad, Lahore, and Karachi at once looks like you did not read the job. Apply to the cities you mean.
Make the attachment the same story
Upload a one- or two-page, text-based PDF with the same title and the same skills as the profile. Name it with your name and the role. Update it when you update the profile. A Rozee profile from 2024 and a resume from 2022 is a common reason shortlisted candidates still get dropped: the dates do not match, and the recruiter assumes the rest might not either.
LinkedIn: Rank for the Search, Then Earn the Click
Pakistani recruiters on LinkedIn are usually searching, not browsing. They type a title, a city, and one or two skills. You appear if those words exist in your headline, About, and experience. You get a message if the first two lines prove you have done the work.
- Headline: target title, two or three hard skills, and your city. Stay under the length LinkedIn shows before "see more."
- About: four to six lines. Who you are, a measured result, and the roles you want. First person is fine here, unlike a resume summary.
- Experience: the same bullets as the resume, not a shorter and vaguer cousin. If the resume says you cut churn 12%, LinkedIn should say that too.
- Featured: add the public resume link once you have one, so they can open a clean PDF without asking.
- Open to work: turn it on for recruiters, and set the titles and cities you will actually accept. A green frame is optional; the settings behind it are what the search uses.
Do not copy a paragraph of keywords under About. Recruiters recognise a stuffed block, and it makes the real experience harder to trust. Use the words inside sentences you could say out loud in an interview.
The Ten-Second Test on the PDF
Once the profile earns the download, the resume is judged like every other file in a Pakistani inbox. The recruiter is asking three questions and nothing else:
- Is this the role I am hiring for, right now, in this city?
- Has this person done it recently, and can I see a result?
- Can I read this on my phone without the columns collapsing?
You pass that test with a standard order. Name, target title, four-line summary, skills in plain text, experience with dates, education. You fail it with a sidebar, a chart of "90% communication," and an objective about a challenging career in a reputable organisation. Those layouts also fail the software many larger employers in Pakistan run on top of the inbox. If the parser cannot find your job title, you never reach the ten-second human test at all.
| Rozee.pk | The PDF resume | ||
|---|---|---|---|
| What is searched | Title, city, experience, degree, skill tags | Headline, About, job titles, skills | Keywords after someone opens the file |
| What earns the click | A title that matches the search, not an internal grade | A headline with the role and two tools | A summary that repeats that same role |
| What gets you skipped | Empty skills, wrong city, "Employee" as a title | "Looking for opportunities" and no proof | Photos, columns, and duty-only bullets |
| What to keep identical | Target title and top skills | Title, skills, and the same numbers | Title, skills, dates, and the same numbers |
Red Flags Recruiters Mention Without Putting Them in the Ad
Talk to anyone who screens CVs in Karachi or Lahore and the same complaints come up. None of them are secret, and all of them are fixable in an evening.
- A job title that changes between Rozee, LinkedIn, and the PDF. Pick one target title per application and use it in all three.
- Dates that overlap without explanation, or a gap you pretend is not there. A short honest line beats a timeline that does not add up.
- Every bullet starting with "responsible for." Replace it with a verb and a result: reduced, launched, collected, hired, reconciled.
- A Gmail address like coolboy456, and a phone number with no country code. Small, and it still costs interviews.
- A photo on a corporate application that did not ask for one, especially a group photo or a filtered selfie. Hospitality and some sales roles are the exception, and even then the photo should look like an ID, not a wedding.
- The same resume sent to a data analyst role and a customer support role. Recruiters can tell. Change the summary and the top bullets. You do not need to rewrite the whole file.
A Worked Example
Same person, two versions. She has three years in a textile mill's export office in Faisalabad and wants a merchandising role in Lahore.
The version that gets skipped: Rozee title "Officer." Skills: MS Office, hardworking, communication. LinkedIn headline "Open to work." Resume objective: "To work in a reputable organisation where I can grow." Bullets: "Handled buyers and did follow-up."
The version that gets opened: Rozee title "Merchandiser." City Lahore, with a line that she can relocate from Faisalabad. Skills: merchandising, buyer follow-up, TNA, costing, export documentation. LinkedIn headline "Merchandiser | buyer follow-up, TNA, export docs | open to Lahore." Resume summary: "Merchandiser with 3 years supporting European buyers for a Faisalabad mill. Kept 25 styles on schedule each season and cut sample-approval delays from 12 days to 7. Relocating to Lahore." First bullet: "Coordinated 6 buyers and a 40-person sampling line, shipping 25 styles a season with on-time delivery above 90%."
Nothing in the second version is invented. It is the same job, written in the words a recruiter searches, with a result a hiring manager can forward.
Put the Three Versions in Order This Week
- Choose one target title for the roles you are applying to this month.
- Rewrite the Rozee current-title field and the LinkedIn headline to that title, plus two skills and a city.
- Replace the resume objective with a four-line summary that uses the same title and one number.
- Add five skills that appear in real ads for that title. Delete soft traits from the skills list.
- Make the experience dates match on all three. Fix overlaps.
- Export a text-based PDF, one or two pages, single column, and upload that file to Rozee.
- Read all three as if you were hiring. If the title, city, and latest result do not match, edit until they do.
The Short Version
Rozee decides if you are in the filtered list. LinkedIn decides if a recruiter messages you. The PDF decides if they forward you. Write the title, the city, the skills, and one measured result so they are identical in all three places. Then stop applying with a file that was built for a different job in a different year.
When the PDF is the weak link, fix the layout and the bullets before you refresh the profile photo. A clean, scannable resume is what the recruiter attaches to the email that gets you the interview.
Free ATS score on your current PDF, then a single-column resume you can upload to Rozee and match on LinkedIn.
